Day and Night from Space

Just added to my Flickr favourites.

This photograph was taken by the crew on board the Columbia during its last mission, on a cloudless day (remember them, no me neither?).

Half of the picture is in night. The bright dots are the cities lights.

This site looks authentic: eol.jsc.nasa.gov/EarthObservatory/EO_Study_Is_this_Image_a_Photograph.htm, guess we should never jump to conclusion eh :)

A hoax! At least it's prettier than the real thing though.
